Nothing is worse than coming back from a ride only to find out that wind noise has rendered your footage unusable. As a mountain bike content creator, I rely heavily on POV and action cam footage. And after experimenting with a few options, I found the Rycote Micro Windjammer to be extremely effective at reducing and even eliminating wind noise issues.
The Windjammer is a wind muff that can be applied to your action cams using some adhesive pads. And while it is not as convenient as a foam cover, which you can remove at any time, the coverage is way better. In my test I was able to reach speeds over 20 mph (32 kph) and still hear my voice clearly. However if you live in a wet environment this might not be a viable option because they are less efficient when they get wet, and removing them is a hassle. I cover the installation and removal of the Windjammer using my GoPro however this will work with most action cameras.
I am very impressed with the quality and durability of the Rycote Windjammer and would have no problem recommending them to anyone.
