Sedona, Arizona has some of the most unique and difficult mountain bike trails in the world. We pushed our limits on Hiline, Hardline and Hogs, and learned a valuable lesson! Join us as we discover what tech riding on 3 of the 4 double black trails is all about.
Trail Details:
Day one focused on Hiline and Hardline. Jeff, Joe, Dan and I started from the Yavapai Trail Head and took the Kaibab trail to Slim Shady to connect to Hiline. Hiline was very technical with some sketch exposure spots as you traverse across the mountain range but is completely do-able by most experienced/seasoned riders. From there we took Templeton to circle back around to connect back into Hiline to get to Hardline. Hardline was extremely demanding and definitely geared toward advanced riders only.
Day two we met Arturo who gave Dan and I an amazing tour of the Hogs. The day started from the Margs Draw Trailhead and we took a slight detour on Broken Arrow to check out the infamous White Line. From there we backtracked on Broken Arrow to connect to High On The Hog and Hog Heaven. Both of these trails were littered with some hard tech lines with tons of exposure. This was both challenging and exciting and we worked our way to Pig Tail and finished on Hog Wash.
All in all we had a blast pushing, and finding, our limits on some of Arizona’s best double back tech trails. These trails are not for the faint hearted and you definitely need a high level of riding ability to complete them. Most are walk-able with the exception of the ending of Hardline which could be difficult to carry your bike down. Feel free to check out the routes we took on Trailforks below.
