The Vortex trail is the premiere intermediate jump line at Sedona Bike Park. Check out how we break down the trail section by section and session the gap jumps before putting it together for one full run at the end. So much fun!
Trail Details:
It’s hard to believe that this trail is labeled “blue” with all the big gap jumps, but I suppose it’s because everything had a go around. Having said that, be sure to pre-ride trail so you get a feel for the entire run.
The trail opens with two options. You can either take the small drop on the right to the step down, or hit the double to the left into the step down. We tried to put them together but in the end we decided the double made the most sense. After the step down comes the first big gap. The ramp is not very big so you might need some speed to clear it. The bridge after can also be gaped or rolled depending on your comfort level. Regardless you will need to keep your speed to clear the next gap which is steeper and on a slight angle.
From there you will see an optional double into a big table. If you clear the table you will have enough speed to clear the final gap jump. The trail ends with a few more tables and doubles, as well as an optional ramped gap jump. Everything is built really well, and to trail speed, which was confidence inspiring.

The Sedona Bike Park has many other trails including a dual slalom, green flow trail and blue tech trail. There is also a huge MTB pump track you can session and warm up on. The climb trail is also easy and graded very nicely. For a complete layout check out the Sedona Bike Park Map here: https://www.sedonaaz.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/34864/636646519127770000
