Arizona’s been hiding some of the best MTB tech riding right here in Gold Canyon. Just outside of city of Phoenix this place has some of the hardest tech climbs and challenging downhills around. Join Dan and I as we explore the double black Hoo Doo and Cajones trails plus the fun mountain bike Tech Loop.
Regardless of what you are into, the views are second to none and the trails are all well maintained. I would recommend the ride we did to anyone looking for a full body workout and tricky technical features.
Trail Details:
If you love challenging tech climbs and downhills then this is your ride. Hoo Doo is a double black tech climb that is off camber in many sections and also sports a demanding rock garden descent. If downhill is more your flavor you can always turn off and take Cajones down instead. Both will put your MTB skills and fitness to the test.
We also explored the alt lines off the K-Trail and ripped through the exciting Tech Loop. Both had lots of optional features sure to get your blood pumping. But if smooth and fast is more your thing there are plenty blue flow trails scattered throughout the network.
Editors Note: Later in the year the fauna gets overgrown so the best time of year to ride these trails is during the fall, winter and early spring months. Also there are hardly any trail signs so make sure you have your Trailforks open and ready.
