As a fat adapted athlete I incorporate many 48 hour, and 72 hour fasts, throughout the year, as part of my training. But do you have to stop working out during a fast?
In this video I will try and answer this question, as well as several others, I frequently get. And while I am not an expert on prolonged fasting, I have been doing this for 6 years, and thought I would share my experience for folks who were curious about it.
As a mountain biker and trail runner, fasting has become an important tool that I regularly rely on. Not only has it helped me mentally, but the benefits I have experienced regarding overall health have been wonderful. Since fasting, I have found I don’t get sick as much, I am healing a lot quicker, and I have been more focused and driven.
Of course I am not a doctor or nutritionist, and if you have concerns or questions regarding your own health and fasting, please consult them first.
