The Salomon Pulsar Trail is a playful responsive shoe that will work well for most trail runners

The Salomon Pulsar Trail is a playful and responsive neutral running shoe that I think will work well for most trail runners. I spent the last few months testing these shoes on the technical terrain I love to run on and put them through my usual battery of test.

The lightweight and fit make these a pleasure to run in, and the Energy Blade provides a responsive ride that will have you effortlessly bounding down the trail. The traction from the All Terrain Contragrip was impressive through a variety of conditions, and the comfort was noticeable, especially on my longer runs. And judging by the lack of wear, I feel like I should be able to get a solid 400 to 500 miles out of them.

The only downsides I found were these shoes tent to hold on to moisture so running the summer months could pose a challenge. Also the design of the Quicklace system needs improvement in my opinion. I will be switching them out to traditional laces going forward. Finally, I doubt this will affect most runners, but on the more technical terrain, I felt the EVA did not offer much protection.

Overall the Pulsar Trail has been a pleasant surprise, and lot of fun to run in. I would have no problem recommending these shoes to anyone looking for a good pair of versatile trail running shoes.
