Flagstaff has got the MTB tech to get your heart rate up and the flow to please your inner speed demon. We started with Sunset before making our way to Full Sail. We ended with Meteoride, which was absolutely amazing! If you want more trail detail, see below. Yes, the climbs are big, but they are graded nicely and well worth it for the downhill. I would recommend this ride to anyone looking for an all-mountain shred fest!
Trail Details:
We parked at the Oldham Basin Lot (see google pin below) and made our way up Elden Lookout Rd for a mile before turning onto Oldham. This trail was graded wonderfully and provided some epic views. We climbed for two miles and about 1000 ft before we transitioned onto Upper Sunset. Sunset starts with a short climb before pointing down. There are a few short punchy sections before you get to the big rock tech. It ends with a fast flowy section that has a few trailside kickers.
We continued on Lower Sunset which was a short 300 ft climb to reach Full Sail. Full Sail was so well built with tons of tables and optional kickers, making it ideal for riders of all skill levels. Word of warning, this trail is extremely long and gets a little pedally toward the end. From there we took Broadside, Abalone, Swell and Brookbank to reach Meteoride.

Meteoride was the highlight of the ride for me! It starts with two massive rock roll/slabs before dropping into some serious rock tech. The trail is full of challenging features which are optional for the most part. However there is no way to avoid the natural gnar of the trail which will absolutely catch you out if you are not on you’re A-Game. We ended back on Elden Lookout Rd a mile from the lot.
A few side notes, the lot is big but there are no bathrooms. Also we elected to take Oldham but if you prefer to climb the road it will take you to the same place. The trails were all well marked and in fantastic condition, thank you to all the trail advocates and volunteers who do an amazing job. See more below for links to help.
