If you haven’t been mountain biking at the Dells you are missing out! The riding is top notch, and the scenery is like something from a movie. The rock tech is next level, and the alt lines will challenge the most skilled of riders. But rest assured there is plenty of grip on these rocks if you get in a sketchy situation.
We mainly focused on the black and double black trails however there are many blue and green lines if you prefer a tamer ride with great views. If you want more information about our route see the trail details below. In conclusion, if you are in the Prescot area and you are looking to ride something out of this world, I would highly recommend checking out the Granite Dells, you won’t be disappointed.
Trail Details:
We parked on E Old Highway on the side of the road and dropped in immediately to Gateway and quickly turned off onto Soggy Bottom. Both of these trails were a good warm up with some intermedia tech to get your legs ready for Silverback. Once you reach the Northwest Passage the tech really starts to kick up. We stayed on that for about a mile and a half before turning off onto Blaster.

Blaster and Dino Canyon are very close to each other and are extremely challenging. Blaster starts with a tech climb before finishing with a boulder traverse. Dino is tilted downward with an awesome slab roll. From there you can play on many different black lines, but we chose to make our way to Rawhide. This trail is labeled a double black, but I think that is a miss IMO. Thankfully, that drops you into Elizabeth Creek which was so much fun! The last double black trail we hit was Raptor and it did not disappoint. You do have to go a little out of the way to get to it, but it is well worth it. There are tons of alt lines throughout, but even the main trail is exciting and challenging.
We finished with a few green and blue flow trails which took us back to Gateway. The ride ended up being about 10 miles and 1100 ft. This might not seem like much if you are a fit rider however what this place lacks in distance and elevation it makes up for in tech. We were all exhausted physically and mentally by the end, but we had an absolute blast! This is a place that I will definitely be checking out again and again.
