Don’t let gear be the thing holding you back from running outside during winter. If you have a decent pair of trail shoes then you are pretty much there. Running in the cold, and especially the snow, is one of my favorite things to do.
Knowing how pricey running specific gear can be, I created a list of 3 inexpensive basic items to get you started with trail runs in the cold. The rest of the gear you need can be supplemented with things you probably already own like gloves, jackets and knit caps. I will also go over what gear I use and some tips to help you stay warm.
Footage notes: Most shots were taken at Kenealy Nature Park & Rolling Hill Park in Gladwyne PA, and Smedley Park in Springfield PA.
