Humbled at Michaux – Mountain biking the enduro lines off Woodrow Rd – Just Ride Ep. 25

In this episode we went back to Michaux State Forest to try and tackle two gnarly MTB enduro lines off Woodrow Rd, Upper and Lower B*tch, and Upper and Lower Happy Hour.

This ride really pushed our limits and forced us to make some tough decisions. With big features and plenty of things to session, it’s a playground for advanced and expert level riders. If you are an intermediate rider there are go-arounds for everything, but keep in mind there’s no hiding from the rocks.

And while we focused on B*tch and Happy Hour, there are several other trails in the area. In total our ride ended up being almost 11 miles and 2400 ft. I’ll leave a links to my Strava and Trailforks down below.

Route Suggestions:

We parked at an unlabeled lot off Pine Grove Rd and took Community Confusion to Mountain Creek to connect to B*tchin. From there we used EZ Up to link to Woodrow Rd and climbed the rest of the way to the top.

If you are looking to do several runs down the mountain Woodrow Rd is pretty much your only option. It’s about 450 to 550 ft, depending on where you start and finish. If you’re able to shuttle, or have an eBike, this would be ideal.

We finished our ride on Lower Happy Hour, and used Fern Gully to connect with Bump n Grind to get back to the lot.
